Personal project for a floating Spinner from Blade Runner 2049. Wanted something to decorate my desk with and came across a magnetic floating kit from Bambulabs. I had several ideas about what to do with that kit and eventually ended up with this!
After learning/working with projection and AR volumes on Star Trek, I thought it would be fun to recreate one at home! I had a Benq projector lying around, and after some fiddling with the refresh rates and such, I was able to get a decent backdrop (all in-camera) for the video. I took some footage from the original Blade Runner movie and tweaked some of the contrast and lighting to add some background bokeh interest and such.
For the video, I wanted to make something reminiscent of the old toy commercials from my childhood that did a great job of selling how cool their action figure / batmobile was with all the added production value.

Modeled in Cinema4D, printed on the Elegoo Neptune Plus 4. Mostly printed on matte black PLA. The lighting elements are a mix of fiber-optic wire with clear PLA caps for the larger lights.

Work in progress of the Spinner.
